Our story
The Essence of Ikara Alankar
Ikara Alankar was born from a longing, a longing to reclaim the splendour of a bygone era, where jewellery was not just an ornament but a language of grace, power, and legacy. For me, as the founder of Ikara Alankar, jewellery is more than an embellishment; it is a whisper of history, carrying within it the spirit of queens and goddesses who walked before us.
As I wandered through the vibrant bazaars of Gujarat, the regal halls of Kerala, and the age-old forts of Maharashtra, I found myself drawn to the legacy they held. The defiant strength of Naiki Devi of Gujarat, the unyielding courage of Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi, the timeless grace of Rani Janki of Pudukkottai, their stories lingered in the intricate motifs of heirloom jewels.
The colours and grandeur in Raja Ravi Varma's paintings became my muse, each stroke a tribute to India’s boundless creativity.
At Ikara Alankar, we don’t merely sell jewellery, we curate dreams. Each piece is handpicked with reverence, examined not just for its craftsmanship but for the story it carries. Our jewellery captures the grandeur of the past, reimagined for today, luxurious yet unburdened, offering the beauty of exquisite design without the burden of extravagant price tags. Because every woman deserves to drape herself in jewels that make her feel regal and radiant.
For me, draping a silk saree and adorning myself with bold, beautiful jewellery is a homecoming, a return to my roots.
We, as Indian women, are the modern embodiments of Goddess Bhavani, whose name in Sanskrit is Ikara, a symbol of strength and resilience. We rise with every dawn, fierce and graceful, and we deserve our own Alankar, our own celebration of beauty and power.
With Ikara Alankar, you don’t just wear jewellery, you wear a piece of heritage, a reflection of India’s timeless splendour, reimagined for the woman of today.
Ikara Alankar – A luxury that is beyond labels.
With Love,
Prajakta Sarfare
